She has three books out as well. http://printpattern.blogspot.com/ I LOVE what she posts though it can be overwhelming. lol

I LOVE and strongly resonate with this quote:
"And using images from print feels, to me, like I am plucking a piece of my culture and my surroundings and my place in time, and making it part of my journal. So, I don't want to not do that. Not sure how to combine both/all of these."

Keep playing with what you are doing now. Try to push yourself and keep at it. Don't give up. I know it's a struggle but keep at it. I'm always here if you want to talk!

Have a great week!!! Happy reading! ;)

kellyKelly Kilmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07002300626700548709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-24187030343786902892013-08-25T19:39:12.952-07:002013-08-25T19:39:12.952-07:00Sounds like a wonderful evening! Found myself wishing I was there! :)

Currently I am interested in pattern and just bought the book "Print and Stamp Lab" by Traci Bunkers. Also working my way through Mary Ann Moss's online class called "Sewn". It is based on playing with pattern.

Trying to incorporate line, sketching, and pattern into my collage somehow. I really prefer dry media. And using images from print feels, to me, like I am plucking a piece of my culture and my surroundings and my place in time, and making it part of my journal. So, I don't want to not do that. Not sure how to combine both/all of these.

For fun I have been reading Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse True Blood series. They are book candy. I am on number 11 of the series.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06046963727909229975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-48840794543776006502013-08-25T17:46:18.568-07:002013-08-25T17:46:18.568-07:00Kelly - Is the Buneul "My Last Sigh" or ...Kelly - Is the Buneul "My Last Sigh" or another title? Midnight shopping at book and record stores, once upon a time, used to be the most fun thing ever. In the 70s, there was a middle-of-the-night record (and promotional posters, etc.) flea market in the Capital Records parking lot. I doubt that it still exists. Then pre-dawn breakfast at the Original Pantry and standing in line for the first showing of "Close Encounters" at the Cinerama Dome. I love LA. xoMarylinn Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02759437467691163658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21078238.post-40758830343180899822013-08-25T14:26:43.071-07:002013-08-25T14:26:43.071-07:00*LOVE* this post, Kelly! And the quote:
"I...*LOVE* this post, Kelly! And the quote:

"I am the sum of my errors and doubts as well as my certainties. Since I'm not a historian, I don't have any notes or encyclopedias, yet the portrait I've drawn is wholly mine-with my affirmations, my hesitations, my repetitions and lapses, my truths and my lies. Such is my memory." Luis Bunuel

Seems we are all the sum of our errors and doubts and certainties, but the awareness (or lack of it) of these makes us see life in very different ways.... and, btw, I appreciate and love your "own strange mind" (but you already know that...)
