Edvard Munch Between the Clock and the Bed at SF Moma

"No longer shall I paint interiors with men reading and women knitting. I will paint living people who breathe and feel and suffer and love." -Edvard Munch

It's difficult to put into words the feelings that you have for an artist whose every brushstroke reaches down and penetrates deep into your soul. I have seen a painting or two of Munch's work over the years at various museums but to see this many pieces at once (especially since so many of them are found in his museum in Oslo) was a rare treat. I will let the paintings and links speak for themselves. In the meantime, I will ponder how his work will influence my own over time...

Oh wow, Kelly! I love Munch's work and hadn't seen many of the paintings in your post. At one time in my past, I had a giant inflatable "The Scream" that I kept in my office at work. I'm so happy you were able to see the exhibit & thanks for sharing it with us.
