Back to regularly scheduled programming here! Not much new other than David has a handful of doctor's appointments over the next two weeks and his second opinion isn't until mid June! We're going to see the urologist in a week and a half and see if we can get a second second opinion! Crazy how much waiting is involved. Some things are done super fast and others, we have to suck it up and try to be patient.

I've been looking for books and podcasts about creativity and the artist's process. I picked up 33 Artists in 3 Acts the other day (yay for very inexpensive, used books!) I'm always looking for new ways to think outside of my own box that I can share with my readers and students. Jan Steward and Corita Kent's Learning by Heart is, hands down, my favorite creativity book. I've been listening to The Jealous Curator Art for Your Ears and the National Gallery of Art (absolutely loved the Van Gogh episode) podcasts. Do you have any suggestions that you can pass along to me?

Hi Kelly I really like Pam Carriker's Art at the Speed of Life
Motivation + Inspiration for Making Mixed-media Art Every Day. I really liked that she suggested doing two or three pieces at the same time. So if one piece has glue drying you can start on another. And go back and forth between pieces. It helps me not be so attached to one piece where I agonize over every little experiment and then it's too precious. Strategy!

Thanks, Laural. I have a hard time with that as I've found (over the years) that working on one piece at a time is what works best for me. I love how we all find our own paths and what works best for us. :)
