Inspiration

Home. Content. Tired but very happy.

Absolutely loved teaching in San Diego today. I left feeling energized and I hope that my students walked out with the same feeling. What a wonderful space.

On the way home, I listened to cds of Clarissa Pinkola Estes' The Creative Fire, The Best of Dean Martin and bits of the famous Hitchcock/Truffaut interview. As I drove home, I passed the Pacific Ocean, four hot air balloons and vibrant desert flowers.

Being an artist isn't a job, it is a way of life. Art is all around us and inspiration truly is everywhere. It's all about how you are open to new things and experiences. It's about being childlike and relearning how to see. My creativity is fed by a number of things from working in my journal to taking a long walk to watching an old film to having my nose in a book to driving home with one eye on the road, one eye on the ocean and my ears open to what's blasting from my speakers.

I hope that you're feeling inspired today.
