Saying Yes.

Spent several hours yesterday working on the above pages for a new class (name and description coming VERY soon! YES it involves making your own background papers.) that I will be debuting in Northern California in October. I'm insanely excited about it. I've been planning it in my head for some time now and now it's time to bring it into fruition.

Speaking of excitement, if you enjoy my work you may be interested in the Autumn issue of Art Journaling. If you have a second to vote, they're asking folks to choose between two cover options for the issue as well. Both cover choices are my journal pages. I'm very grateful and yet anxious about it at the same time. It's always a bit nerve wracking to put yourself out there. People may say to me, "But you post your journal pages all of the time." I counter that I do it to encourage others to create and that I feel safe on my blog. I haven't submitted to any publications in a very long time so I'm interested in seeing what the reaction is.

Congratulations Kelly!! I can't wait to see the magazine. I just pre-ordered and voted.

I love your Finding My Way album and class. I just spent this morning working in that very book and posted new pages.

Thank you for excellent teaching and encouragement!

Hey Kelly, sorry I missed you at AU this year. Congrats on 'art journal' cover. Yippee. I admire your dedication and discipline. Nice work, I say.

Feeling a bit naked? I voted and both covers were/are delicious! I believe real art exists in the space between the artist and the viewer...the connection, the communication, the appreciation. I also believe that space is for both the artist and the viewer. Thank you for - ahem - putting on the big girl panties and offering the possibility of art to the world.Love Lori

Hi Kelly - I've been considering doing another online class with you. The problem is deciding which one! Is this new class going to be online, or just taught in onsite. Wondering if I should be waiting a little longer to make my decision :-)
