30 August 2012 Journal Page

I've finished the book that I'll be showing you here the next few weeks. I really enjoyed working in it. I hope that you enjoy seeing it.

A quick reminder that I have two classes lined up this weekend (Friday at Stampin from the Heart and Saturday at Zinnia.) I don't have any plans to teach La Petite Muse again any time soon so catch it while you can!

David, Tristan and I had a great time at The Academy last night. We went for the screening of The Wolf Man and An American Werewolf in London, two films that are a treat to see on the big screen. In attendance were Ron Chaney (Lon Jr's Grandson), Rick Baker, John Landis, George Folsey Jr and David Naughton. I always enjoy seeing films on the big screen but I do wish that they had more time to allow the filmmakers to talk. It's a rare chance to hear them talk about their work and we try to jump on it as often as we can.

The night before we saw The Man Who Laughs (which I had never seen before but really enjoyed seeing on the big screen in 35mm.)

Last week we saw Guillermo del Toro (whom we ALWAYS enjoy seeing and the book about Bleak House is HIGH on my wish/want list) introduce Dracula and Bride of Frankenstein (one of my most favorite horror films).

I love The Academy and how they offer a chance to see films at an affordable price (the three of us can attend a screening for $13) as well as a chance to see the filmmakers in person. I can't recommend it enough!

I really need to spend some quality October time watching old old horror films! Beautiful page, Kelly.
