Almost everything is packed except for my clothes! Hopefully all of my toys will fit into the rental car for the weekend. I'm teaching the three books that you see above. I can't wait! There is still room for any last minute folks in the classes. More info here. Email me if you have any questions or concerns. I don't know when I'll be back in Northern California, so catch 'em while you can! I'll be blogging daily from the road. The posts will be short (and hopefully sweet!)
David and I were up late last night watching Chaplin's Monsieur Verdoux. I absolutely LOVED the film. Chaplin, as usual, was perfect. You can watch it on Hulu Criterion for free any time over the next four days. They have a whole bunch of films up for free (look for the "Expires in X days" underneath the title.) They add new ones every week.
Speaking of great films, I was very saddened to hear of the death of 100 year old film director, Kaneto Shindo. Two of my favorite films of his are Onibaba and Naked Island (don't read anything about this film beforehand, just watch it.) There's an article in the Guardian about his passing.
