Great Day of Teaching in Simi Valley

Had a great day teaching in Simi Valley! Huge thanks to our wonderful hostess, Janet as well as Darcy and Kara! I'm looking forward to next month!

One quick tip for the day, when working with collage, keep a "now bag" (or box or container) separate from your big stash. Force yourself to go through and use only what is in the now box. I rotate my supplies (especially the collage ephemera.) When I sit down to make a page, I quickly sort through and grab a focal image and a few, select pieces of background paper. I force myself to use what I have in my hand and try to make it work. It works for me and keeps things from being overwhelming.

You and I are thinking a long the same lines again! I wrote about keeping a bag of collage images to work from in my post today! Great minds think alike and all that... Love that photo of all the goodies on the table. Make me want to jump in and make something NOW!

LOL I've been saying it for years. I keep repeating myself in the hopes that it will sink in with people! ;) I see it over and over again. People get overwhelmed with STUFF. Be selective. Limit yourself so that you don't overwhelm yourself. Rotating supplies really does work! :)
It sure does! I rotate, rotate, rotate and totally limit the amount of supplies I have on hand. And I really believe it takes your creativity to a whole new level if you aren't surrounded but STUFF. Like you said, it can be overwhelming!!!
